Final Fantasy XIV director apologises for server congestion due to "staggering and unexpected" player growth - emersonscrims
Final Phantasy XIV Online's producer and director Naoki Yoshida has issued an apology to players unable to get into the MMO thanks to difficulties with server over-crowding.
In the open letter, Yoshida explained that the game is "presently experiencing a dramatic increase in its player base." In particular, helium says, the increase in Continent and EU-region players specifically over the lowest two weeks has been "so staggering and unexpected that many players are now having trouble logging in or creating new characters imputable server congestion."
To try and find more people into the game, the team at Square Enix has been able to upgrade the server hardware to countenance an supererogatory 18,000 players. Speaking of Unalterable Fantasy XIV: Endwalker, the upcoming enlargement is currently scheduled for a November 23 release on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
